Again this year the elementary schools in Isle of Wight County will compete against one another for the title of biggest plastic bag recycler of the school year! The grand prize winner not only gets bragging rights, but the choice of a pizza party or an ice cream party.
To entice all elementary schools to amp up their collection efforts, we’re offering prizes to all schools that collect 10% more plastic than their previous collection in 2009/2010 school year. If they meet their 10% goal, they can choose a school prize of either $200 cash towards their field day, a popcorn machine at their field day, or an ice cream cup for each child in the school. The school that collects the most plastic over their 10% goal will be the one grand prize winner!
So, get ready because collection starts on Tuesday, September 7, and runs through Earth Day, Friday, April 22, 2011.
