JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The choice shoppers make at the supermarket checkout — paper or plastic — could become a costly one.Lawmakers in Florida are considering a bag tax that would cost customers extra for each bag they use.Some shoppers aren’t happy to hear about the movement to either put a tax on plastic bags or eventually eliminate them.”I think that’s ridiculous, man,” one local shopper said. “Basically, they’re trying to get money for everything.”"I don’t think they should tax them at all,” another shopper said. “You come in the grocery store, everything’s high enough. So why put a tax on them?”The idea is one environmental groups like the Sierra Club have been pushing for in the sunshine state.
